이르면 8월부터 기존의 모범 택시와 다른 “고급 택시”를 이용할 수 있게 될 전망입니다. 현행 기준상 여러 까다로운 조건 탓에 그동안 고급 택시 사업자가 없었는데 이번에 국토부가 그 기준을 낮춘 것입니다. 국토부는 3000㏄였던 고급 택시의 기준 배기량을 2천800㏄ 이상으로 완화하였습니다. 또한 택시 표시등과 미터기·카드 결제기 장착 의무를 면제하였고 요금도 사업자가 자율적으로 정해 신고만 하면 됩니다. 고급 택시는 택시 표시등이 없기에 돌아다니면서 배회 영업은 사실상 불가능해 예약 전용으로 운영될 것입니다. 국토부 관계자는 “외국의 고급 택시처럼 음료나 슬리퍼 제공 등 다양한 서비스를 제공하게 될 것”이라며 “서울과 부산 등에서 고급 택시 서비스를 하려는 사업자들의 문의 전화가 잇따랐다”고 말했습니다.
