지난해 국립공원을 방문한 외국인이 205만 명을 돌파했다. The country’s national parks last year attracted 2.05 million foreign visitors.
기후에너지환경부 산하 국립공원공단은 25일 방한 관광객 113만 명과 국내 거주 외국인 92만 명을 포함한 작년 한 해 통계를 발표했다.
The Korea National Park Service under the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment on March 25 released statistics showing that 1.13 million foreign tourists and 920,000 foreign residents visited national parks last year.
외국인 관광객이 가장 많이 찾은 국립공원은 단연 한라산국립공원(27만 명)이었다. 다도해해상국립공원 (14만 명), 태안해안국립공원(13만 명), 한려해상국립공원(13만 명) 등 해상 국립공원들이 그 뒤를 이으며 높은 인기를 증명했다.
Hallasan National Park attracted the most visitors with 270,000.
It was followed by Dadohaehaesang National Park with 140,000 and Taeanhaean and Hallyeohaesang national parks with 130,000 each.
탐방 외국인을 국적별로 보면 중국인이 25만 명으로 가장 많았다. 이어 대만 13만 명, 필리핀 9만 명, 인도네시아 8만 명, 미국 6만 명, 일본 5만 명 순이었다.
By nationality, Chinese visitors were the most at 250,000, followed by Taiwanese (130,000), Filipinos (90,000), Indonesians (80,000), Americans (60,000) and Japanese (50,000).
계절별로는 단풍이 물들고 기후가 온화한 가을철에 가장 집중적으로 산을 올랐다. 봄과 여름은 다음 순위였다.
Autumn was the most popular season thanks to fall foliage and mild weather, followed by spring and summer.
국립공원공단은 가파르게 늘어나는 외국인 수요에 발맞춰 탐방 서비스를 확대할 계획이다.
The Korea National Park Service will expand visitor services to meet the rapidly growing number of foreign tourists.
우선 등산화와 스틱을 포함한 ‘안정 배낭 대여 서비스’를 도입한다. 인공지능(AI) 기반 다국어 안내 시스템도 도입해 정보 접근성을 높인다. 나아가 외국인 전용 레인저 탐방 프로그램을 운영해 더 안전하고 편리한 탐방 환경을 구축할 방침이다.
A safety backpack rental service including hiking boots and trekking poles will be introduced.
An AI-based multilingual guidance system will improve access to information.
A ranger-led tour program exclusively for foreign visitors will also be launched to create a safer and more convenient hiking environment.
