문화체육관광부(문체부)와 한국관광공사가 방한 관광객 3000만 명 조기 달성을 위한 핵심 콘텐츠인 ‘글로벌축제’ 3개와 ‘예비 글로벌축제’ 4개를 12일 발표했다.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization on March 12 designated three “global” and four “preliminary global” festivals under a strategy to accelerate the national goal of attracting 30 million tourists per year.
글로벌축제로는 보령머드축제, 안동국제탈춤페스티벌, 진주남강유등축제가 선정됐다. 예비 글로벌축제로는 대구치맥페스티벌, 부산국제록페스티벌, 순창장류축제, 정남진장흥물축제 등이 뽑혔다.
The Boryeong Mud Festival, Andong International Mask Dance Festival and Jinju Namgang Yudeung (Wish Lantern) Festival got the global tag, while the preliminary classification went to the Daegu Chimac (Chicken and Beer) Festival, Busan International Rock Festival, Sunchang Jangryu (Fermented Sauce) Festival and Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival.
전문가의 서면·발표 평가를 거쳐 선정된 글로벌축제에는 최대 3년 동안 연간 8억 원, 예비 글로벌축제에는 2억 5000만 원을 각각 지원할 예정이다.
Selected through written and presentation evaluations from experts, a global festival qualifies for annual financial support of up to KRW 800 million for a maximum of three years and a preliminary global festival KRW 250 million.
문체부는 지원 기간 내 외국인 관광객을 2배 이상 유치하기 위해 방한 관광 전략 수립, 외국인 관광객 대상 체험형 콘텐츠 개발과 외국인 관광객 수용 태세 편의성 개선 등에 힘을 쏟기로 했다.
In a bid to more than double the number of foreign visitors over the support period, the ministry will focus on devising strategies to boost inbound tourism, developing interactive content for foreign visitors and improving their convenience.
글로벌축제를 방문하는 관광객이 지역에서 더 많은 시간을 보낼 수 있도록 주요 관광지 무료입장 등 다양한 지역 관광 상품도 개발할 계획이다.
Another plan is to develop tourism products by area through promotions like free admission to major attractions. This is to encourage visitors to a global festival to spend more time in the region.
