정부가 항공기 제조 분야에 연간 300명 이내의 외국인력을 도입키로 했다. Domestic aircraft manufacturers will be allowed to recruit up to 300 foreign workers per year.
산업통상자원부(산업부)와 법무부는 국내 항공기 제조산업 분야에 특정활동(E-7) 외국인력 도입을 허용하는 항공기(부품) 제조원 직종 신설계획을 1일 발표했다.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Ministry of Justice on May 1 jointly announced a plan to create positions in aircraft component manufacturing by allowing foreign workers eligible for the E-7 (foreign national of special ability) visa to work in the sector.
산업부와 법무부는 (사)한국항공우주산업진흥협회 등 관계기관과 협업과 업계 의견 수렴을 거쳐 연간 300명 범위 내에서 2년간 특정활동(E-7) 외국인력 도입을 허용하는 시범운영 계획을 수립했다.
After both ministries collaborated with the Korea Aerospace Industries Association and other relevant organizations and collected opinions from the industry, they came up with a trial plan to invite up to 300 foreign workers eligible for the E-7 annually for a two-year period.
항공기 제조 산업이 코로나 대유행 이후 국경 간 이동 정상화와 수출 활성화 등으로 호황을 맞고 있으나 국내의 경우 필요 인력을 충분히 구하지 못해 생산에 차질을 겪고 있기 때문이다.
Since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic aircraft manufacturing has enjoyed a boom thanks to restoration of cross-border movement and export rebound, but companies in the sector have experienced disruptions in production due to a labor shortage.
양 부처는 시범 운영 기간동안 외국인력 선발과 관리 현황, 불법 체류 방지 대책 이행 여부 등을 공동으로 점검할 방침이다. Over the trial period, the two ministries will jointly check the selection and management of foreign staff, as well as steps to prevent illegal stays.
박성재 법무부 장관은 “앞으로도 구인난이 심각한 산업분야에 우수외국인력 도입을 허용하는 동시에 국민고용 보호‧촉진을 위한 지원체계 강화방안도 함께 검토해 경제 활성화를 위한 균형 잡힌 비자 제도 개선을 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
Minister of Justice Park Sung Jae said, “Going forward, we will permit the hiring of outstanding foreign staff by sectors reeling from severe hiring difficulty while reviewing measures to reinforce the support system to protect and stimulate national employment, thus promoting a balanced visa system through improvements to revitalize the economy.”
안덕근 산업부 장관은 “이번 비자 제도 개선은 항공산업계의인력 애로 해소, 생산 확대와 수주 증가 등 국내 항공제조업계의 경쟁력 강화에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대한다” 며 “앞으로도 관계부처와 협력해 우수인력 양성 사업 등도 적극 지원해 나갈 것” 이라고 밝혔다.
“We expect this improvement of the visa system to significantly contribute to reinforcing the competitiveness of domestic aircraft manufacturing, including alleviating staffing problems in the aviation industry and raising production and contracts,” Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Dukgeun said. “We will keep actively supporting projects for development of talented human resources by cooperating with related ministries.”
