한국의 이동통신 평균 다운로드 속도 및 5세대 이동통신(5G) 평균 다운로드 속도가 아시아·태평양 지역에서 가장 빠른 것으로 나타났다.
The country has the fastest average download speed for mobile communications and that for 5G in the Asia-Pacific region.
5일 영국 시장조사기관 오픈시그널에 따르면 지난해 10월 1일부터 12월 29일까지 조사된 한국의 이동통신 평균 다운로드 속도는 140.2Mbps로 아태지역 25개국 중 1위를 기록했다.
Opensignal, a London-based mobile analytics company, on Feb. 5 said Korea’s average mobile communications download speed from Oct. 1 to Dec. 29 last year was 140.2 Mbps, the fastest among 25 nations in the region.
2년 전 조사에 비해 14.8Mbps 빨라진 것으로 2위를 기록한 싱가포르(71.1Mbps)와의 차이는 거의 2배에 달한다. 이어 호주 58.5Mbps, 대만 55.7Mbps, 인도 51.5Mbps, 중국이 50.5Mbps로 뒤를 이었다.
This was 14.8 Mbps faster from two years ago and almost double the rate of Asia-Pacific runner-up Singapore (71.1). Third was Australia (58.5), followed by Taiwan (55.7), India (51.5) and China (50.5).
5G 이동통신 평균 다운로드 속도에서도 한국은 436.7Mbps로 선두를 달렸다. Korea also had the region’s fastest average download speed for 5G with 436.7 Mbps.
아태 지역에서는 말레이시아 337.7Mbps, 싱가포르 292.9Mbps, 인도가 280.7Mbps로 상위권을 차지했고, 유럽에서는 덴마크(301.8Mbps), 불가리아(288.9Mbps), 크로아티아(274.3Mbps) 등의 5G 속도가 빠른 것으로 조사됐다.
Second was Malaysia (337.7 Mbps), followed by Singapore (292.9) and India (280.7). The fastest in Europe was Denmark (301.8 Mbps), trailed by Bulgaria (288.9) and Croatia (274.3).
한편 5G 이동통신에 접속한 시간 비율을 지칭하는 5G 가용성 조사에서는 인도가 44.3%로 1위에 올랐다. 38.3%로 2위를 차지한 한국에 이어 싱가포르, 태국, 말레이시아가 각각 33.3%, 24.8%, 23.6%로 3~5위에 자리했다.
India was No. 1 in the region in 5G availability, or the percentage of time spent connected to 5G mobile telecommunications, with 44.3%. Korea was second (38.3%), followed by Singapore (33.3%), Thailand (24.8%) and Malaysia (23.6%).
