V/A+ 는다고/ㄴ다고/다고 해서 V/A+ 는/은/ㄴ 것은 아니다

It is used to mean that it doesn’t always go with all cases to other people’s words or common facts. It’s a combination of ‘-는다고/ㄴ다고/다고 해서’ of quotation and ‘-는/은/ㄴ 것도 아니다’ of denial.

운동을 많이 한다고 해서 살이 빠지는 것은 아닙니다.
Just because you exercise a lot doesn’t mean you lose weight.

머리가 똑똑하다고 해서 시험을 잘 보는 것은 아니에요.
Just because you’re smart doesn’t mean you’re good at tests.

돈이 많다고 해서 꼭 행복한 것은 아니에요.
Just because you have a lot of money doesn’t mean you’re happy.

Conversation:

어제 뉴스 봤어요? 이제 우리도 우주로 여행을 갈 수 있대요.
Did you see the news yesterday? It said now we can travel to space.

네. 우주 탐사 기업에서 상품을 내놓았다면서요? 그런데 비용이 꽤 비싸던데요?
Yes. The space exploration company launched a package, right? But it was quite expensive.

돈만 있다고 해서 꼭 갈 수 있는 것은 아닌 게 대기자만 700명이 넘는대요.
But just because you have money doesn’t mean you can go because it is said that there are more than 700 people waiting.

그래도 저는 무중력 상태를 한번 경험해 보고 싶어요.
