대한민국 임시정부의 역사를 만날 수 있는 전시가 해외에서 처음 개최된다. An exhibition on the history of the Korean Provisional Government will be held for the first time abroad.
23일 국가보훈부에 따르면 국립대한민국임시정부기념관은 24일부터 내년 3월 6일까지 중국 베이징 주중국 한국문화원에서 ‘환국, 대한민국 임시정부 돌아오다’를 주제로 첫 국외 순회전시회를 개최한다.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs on Nov. 22 said the National Memorial of the Korean Provisional Government from Nov. 24 to March 6 will hold its first overseas touring exhibition at the Korean Cultural Center in Beijing, China, under the theme “The Korean Provisional Government Returns.”
대한민국 임시정부 요인 환국 78주년을 맞아 계획된 이번 전시에서는 임시정부의 수립과 활동, 임시정부 요인들의 귀국 과정 및 서울운동장에서 열렸던 임시정부 개선 전국 환영대회 등과 관련된 유물 63점이 소개된다.
To mark the 78th anniversary of the government in exile’s return to the motherland, the event displays 63 relics related to its establishment and activity, the return of key figures to Korea, and national welcoming events for them at Seoul Stadium.
전시 1부 ‘승리하고 돌아가리라’는 임시정부 초대 대통령인 이승만 전 대통령을 소개한 독립신문 89호(1921), 임시정부 주석 김구의 취임 선서(1944) 및 한국의 독립을 보장한 카이로 선언(1943) 등이 전시된다.
The first part of the exhibition, “We Will Return Victorious,” showcases the 89th issue of the daily Dongnipsinmun (Independence Newspaper) in 1921 that introduces the first leader of the government, President Rhee Syngman; Kim Gu’s inauguration oath in 1944 for his appointment as premier; and the Cairo Declaration, which guaranteed national independence.
2부 ‘가자, 조국으로’에서는 1945년 9월 2일 일본이 공식적으로 항복에 서명한 일본항복문서를, 3부 ‘대한민국 임시정부 개선하다’에서는 당시 종로 화신백화점 앞에 제작됐던 개선문과 꽃 전차 구조물을 통해 대한민국 임시정부 개선 전국환영대회의 모습을 엿볼 수 있다.
The second section, “Let’s Go, to our Homeland,” shows the written agreement Japanese Instrument of Surrender, which Japan officially signed on Sept. 2, 1945. The third, “The Provisional Government Enters Triumphantly,” displays the triumphal arch set up at the time in front of Hwashin Department Store in Seoul’s Jongno-gu District and a floral tram to greet members of the provisional government.
이와 함께 1948년 9월 1일 발행된 대한민국 관보 제1호와 국가등록문화재인 한‧중‧영문 중국판 한국애국가 악보, 광복군 서명 태극기 등은 4부 ‘대한민국 정부, 임시정부를 계승하다’에 전시된다. 5부 ‘대한민국 임시정부를 기억하다’는 중국 내 남아있는 대한민국 임시정부 유적지와 함께 국립대한민국임시정부기념관 개관 과정을 소개한다.
Under the theme “The Government of the Republic of Korea Succeeds the Provisional Government,” the fourth section displays the inaugural issue of the Official Gazette of the Republic of Korea on Sept. 1, 1948; sheet music for the national anthem in Korean, Chinese, and English that is designated National Registered Cultural Heritage No. 1; and a national flag with signatures of members of the Korean Liberation Army.
김희곤 국립대한민국임시정부기념관장은 “이번 중국 베이징 주중한국문화원에서 열리는 전시회는 대한민국 임시정부가 환국하기 전까지 활동했던 중국에서 열린다는 점에서 의미가 있다”며 “우리 민족 독립의 구심체 역할을 했던 대한민국 임시정부의 역사와 가치를 국내뿐 아니라, 해외에도 알리는 노력에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
The fifth and final part, “Remembering the Korean Provisional Government,” introduces the historical site of the government remaining in China and the opening of the memorial in Seoul. “This exhibition held at the Korean Cultural Center in Beijing is significant as it takes place in China, where the Provisional Government was active until its return to Korea,” the memorial’s director Kim Hui-gon said. “We will do our best to promote the history and value of the Provisional Government, which served as the center of our nation’s independence, not only domestically but also abroad.”
한편, 이번 전시는 전시 기간 일요일을 제외하고 오전 10시부터 오후 5시 30분까지 무료로 관람할 수 있다. Held at the KCC in Beijing, the exhibition is open daily except Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is free.
