서울시가 지난해 이어 2년 연속으로 ‘최고의 아시아 레저 도시’로 인정받았다. Seoul has been named Best Leisure Destination in Asia for the second straight year.
서울시는 미국 비즈니스 트래블 매체 ‘글로벌 트래블러’가 주관한 제14회 레저 라이프 스타일 어워즈(Leisure Lifestyle Awards)에서 ‘아시아 최고 레저 도시’를 수상했다고 2일 밝혔다.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government on April 2 said the city won the title of Best Leisure Destination in Asia at the 14th Leisure Lifestyle Awards hosted by Global Traveler.
이 상은 전 세계 비즈니스 여행객과 관광 업계 투표로 선정됐다. The award was determined through votes by business travelers and tourism industry professionals worldwide.
글로벌 트래블러는 “쇼핑, 미식, 엔터테인먼트 등은 물론 한국 문화와 결합한 다채로운 체험 콘텐츠가 글로벌 관광객의 마음을 사로잡았다”고 평가해 서울의 전통과 트렌드의 조화, 다각적인 관광 매력을 수상의 요인으로 꼽았다.
Global Traveler praised Seoul for its wide range of experiential content combining Korean culture with shopping, cuisine and entertainment, saying these elements captivated global tourists. It cited the harmony of tradition and modern trends, along with the city’s diverse tourism appeal, as key reasons for the award.
서울시는 지난해 일본 모리재단 선정 ‘세계도시경쟁력지수(GPCI)’ 6위, 미국 트래지 트래블이 뽑은 ‘MZ세대가 가장 사랑하는 도시’ 1위, 올해 영국 문화·여행 미디어 타임아웃(Time Out) 선정 ‘2026 세계 최고 도시 50’ 9위 등 다양한 국제지표를 통해 글로벌 관광도시로의 위상을 증명했다.
Seoul has also demonstrated its global tourism competitiveness through multiple international rankings: sixth in the Global Power City Index (GPCI) by Japan’s Mori Foundation, first as the most loved city by millennials and Gen Z by Trazee Travel, and ninth in the “50 Best Cities in the World 2026” selected by Time Out.
