지난 2021년 공개돼 전 세계적 인기를 얻은 ‘오징어 게임’ 시즌 2의 스틸컷이 처음 공개됐다.

넷플릭스는 1일(현지 시간) 2024년 공개 예정작 라인업 미리보기인 ‘넥스트 온 넷플릭스(Next On Netflix)’를 통해 ‘오징어 게임2’의 공개를 확정하고 첫 스틸컷을 공개했다.
Netflix on Feb. 1 announced that the second season will air this year and showed for the first time scenes from the upcoming season on Next on Netflix, a website with trailers for the streaming platform’s upcoming works this year.
‘오징어 게임’은 456억 원의 상금이 걸린 의문의 서바이벌에 참여한 사람들이 최후의 승자가 되기 위해 목숨을 걸고 극한의 게임에 도전하는 이야기를 담아낸 드라마다.
The thriller is about people who risk their lives to play games of extreme survival, with the last person standing to win KRW 45.6 billion.
올해 방영되는 시즌2는 미국행을 포기한 주인공 ‘성기훈(이정재)’이 자신만의 목적을 품은 채 다시 돌아오면서 이야기가 시작된다.
The upcoming season is about protagonist Seong Gi-hoon (played by actor Lee Jung-Jae) giving up his plans to go to the U.S. and returning to fulfill his goal.
이번에 공개된 4장의 스틸컷에는 기훈을 포함해 프론트맨(이병헌), 딱지남(공유)과 새로운 시즌을 통해 등장하는 박규영의 캐릭터도 등장해 눈길을 끌었다.
The released scenes show the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) who oversees the competition and the salesman (Gong Yoo) who recruits players from the first season, as well as a new character played by Park Gyu-young.
시즌 2는 지난 2022년 제74회 프라임타임 에미상 시상식에서 아시아인 최초로 감독상을 수상하며 새로운 역사를 쓴 황동혁 감독이 다시 한번 연출·각본·제작을 맡았다.
Series creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk wrote, produced, and directed the second season. In 2022, “Squid Game” earned him the distinction of the first Asian to win Outstanding Director for a Drama Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards of the U.S.
시즌1에 등장했던 이병헌, 위하준, 공유를 포함해 임시완, 강하늘, 이진욱 등이 합류해 더욱 다채로운 캐릭터를 선보일 예정이다.
Season 2 will have actors from the first season such as Lee, Wi Ha-joon and Gong reprise their roles while featuring various newcomers played by Yim Si-wan, Kang Haneul, and Lee Jin-Wook.
