세계가 주목하는 한국문학을 서울야외도서관에서 다양한 언어로 만날 수 있는 자리가 마련됐다. The Seoul Outdoor Library offers translations of domestic literature famous abroad.
서울시는 책읽는 서울광장, 광화문 책마당, 책읽는 맑은냇가 등 서울야외도서관 세 곳에서 한국문학번역원이 기증한 한국 문학번역서 693권을 전시한다고 19일 밝혔다.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Sept. 19 said 693 translated books donated by the Literature Translation Institute of Korea will be displayed at branches of the library at Seoul Plaza and Gwanghwamun Square and along Cheonggyecheon Stream.
이번 전시에서는 영국 맨부커 국제상 수상작인 한강의 ‘채식주의자’를 비롯해 해외문학상 수상작, 드라마·영화·뮤지컬 원작 도서, 한국 고전문학 등 세계가 주목하는 한국문학번역서를 주제별로 구성해 선보인다. 전시 도서는 영어, 일본어, 중국어, 아랍어, 그리스어 등 33개 언어로 번역된 59종의 원작 총 693권으로 구성했다.
The exhibition showcases translations of globally recognized Korean literature by theme including those that received foreign literature awards, works adapted for TV dramas, movies or musicals, and classical literature. Among the works is Han Kang’s “The Vegetarian,” which won the U.K.’s Man Booker International Prize in 2016. The 693 books are translations of 59 literary works in 33 languages including English, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic and Greek.
서울광장에 마련된 ‘책읽는 서울광장’은 19~22일 ‘엄마들’(마영신), ‘작별하지 않는다’(한강), ‘우리들의 행복한 시간’(공지영), ‘7년의 밤’(정유정) 등을 선보인다.
The Seoul Outdoor Library branch at Seoul Plaza from Sept. 19-22 features Ma Yeong-shin’s graphic novel “Moms” and the novels “I Do Not Bid Farewell,” by Han, “Our Happy Time” by Gong Ji-young and “Seven Years of Darkness” by Jeong You-Jeong.
광화문광장 ‘광화문 책마당’은 20~22일 ‘채식주의자’(한강)’, ‘살인자의 기억법’(김영하) 등 해외문학상 수상작을 전시한다.
The branch at Gwanghwamun Square from Sept. 20-22 will highlight winners of foreign literature prizes including “The Vegetarian” and “Diary of a Murderer” by Kim Young-ha.
청계천 ‘책읽는 맑은냇가’에서는 20~22일까지 ‘어서오세요, 휴남동 서점입니다’(황보름), ‘아몬드’(손원평) 등 한국 베스트셀러 소설을 만나볼 수 있다.
Seoul Outdoor Library at Cheonggyecheon Stream from Sept. 20-22 features the bestselling novels “Welcome to the Hyunam-dong Bookshop” by Hwang Bo-reum and “Almond” by Sohn Won-pyung.
