무제한 대중교통 이용권인 서울시의 기후동행카드에 이어 전국 대중교통 요금을 20~53% 돌려주는 ‘K-패스’가 등장했다.
K-pass, a nationwide public transportation program offering rebates on fares between 20% and 53%, has been launched following the Climate Card, a similar pass started in January by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
국토교통부 대도시권광역교통위원회는 24일부터 기존 알뜰교통카드를 대체하는 K-패스 카드를 발급한다고 21일 밝혔다. 관련 사업은 오는 5월 1일부터 시행된다.
The Metropolitan Traffic Commission under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on April 21 said K-pass replaced the Alddeul (Thrifty) Transportation Card. Though K-pass’ issuance began on April 24, the benefits take effect from May 1.
K-패스는 월 15회 이상 정기적으로 대중교통(시내·마을버스, 지하철, 광역버스, GTX 대상)을 이용하면 지출금액의 일정비율(일반인 20%, 청년층 30%, 저소득층 53%)을 다음 달에 돌려받을 수 있는 교통카드다.
K-pass refunds the following month a select percentage of users’ monthly expenses on public transportation like city and intercity buses, subway and the higher-speed Great Train eXpress (GTX) line more than 15 times a month. The rebate rates are 20% for the public, 30% for those ages 19-34 and 53% for low-income earners.
국민, 농협, BC, 삼성, 신한, 우리, 하나, 현대 등 카드사 10곳을 통해 K-패스를 발급받을 수 있다. Ten credit card companies offer K-pass including KB Kookmin, Nonghyup, BC, Samsung, Shinhan, Woori, Hana and Hyundai.
K-패스 혜택을 받기 위해선 카드 발급 신청뿐만 아니라 알뜰교통카드 회원 전환, 또는 K-패스 신규 회원가입 절차 등을 거쳐야 한다. To sign up for K-pass, users can either switch their membership from the program’s predecessor or register as a new member.
기존 알뜰교통카드 이용자는 추가 카드 발급이나 회원 가입 없이 알뜰카드 앱 또는 누리집(alcard.kr)에서 간단한 회원전화 과정을 밟으면 된다. Users of the previous card can simply make a membership switch through the Alddeul Transportation Card Plus app or its official website (alcard.kr).
신규 이용자 경우 다음달 1일부터 출시되는 K-패스 앱 또는 누리집(korea-pass.kr)에서 회원가입 하면 혜택을 받을 수 있다. New users can receive the benefits that begin on May 1 by registering on the K-pass app or website (korea-pass.kr).
국토부는 참여 카드사별로 카드 이용 실적에 따라 추가 혜택을 제공해 이용자들의 교통비 부담을 한층 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다. The ministry said each participating card company will further cut the financial burden of transportation costs through additional benefits from K-pass based on card usage.
