V + 기보다 V + 는 게 어때요?

It is used to suggest that you do it because you think the content of the following clause is better than the content of the preceding clause.’-기보다’ and ‘-는 게 어때요?’ are attached to the stem of the action verb.

약만 먹기보다 병원에 한번 가 보는 게 어때요?
Why don’t you go see a doctor rather than just take medicine?

이 시계를 사기보다 방수 기능이 있는 다른 시계를 사는 게 어때요?
Instead of buying this watch, why don’t you buy another watch with a waterproof function?

한국의 전통 놀이에 대한 이야기만 듣기보다 윷놀이라도 해 보는 게 어때요?
Why don’t you just play around with Yutnolyi instead of just listening to the stories of traditional Korean entertainment?
