V+ 기 바라다
It is used with an action verb stem. This is used when you express your wish for someone to fulfill their expectations. It is used with the ending of a descriptive verb such as ‘건강하다, 행복하다’ for as a greeting expression. Even though ‘바라, 바라요’ is used as a correct grammatical expression, ‘바래, 바래요’ is used during daily conversation.
이번 일이 성공하기 바랍니다.
I hope you will be successful in this business.
이번 시험에 꼭 합격하기 바라.
I hope you pass this examination surely.
건강하고 행복하시기 바라요.
I hope you are happy and healthy.
