오늘 면접 본다고 했지? 그런데 그렇게 귀걸이를 주렁주렁 했어?

왜? 면접 볼 때 귀걸이하지 말라는 법은 없잖아.
Why? There is no rule that you cannot wear earrings during an interview.
중요한 자리니까 단정하게 보이는 게 좋지 않을까?

V+ 으라는/라는 법은 없다
As it is attached to an action verb’s stem, it is used to indicate that it is not necessary to do so. It can be a strong negative reaction to the other person’s words.

‘-라는 법은 없다’ is used if it ends with a vowel of the action verb’s stem or ‘ㄹ’. Other than that, ‘-으라는 법은 없다’ is used when it ends with a consonant.

다이어트 한다고 해서 채소만 먹으라는 법은 없어요.
There is no rule that you should only eat vegetables just because you are on a diet.

남자는 요가를 배우지 말라는 법은 없잖아요.
There is no rule that a man should not learn yoga.

환자가 누워만 있으라는 법은 없으니까 가벼운 산책도 좀 하세요.
There is no rule that the patient should stay in bed, so take a little walk.
