V+ 으시지요/시지요. Mildly suggest or recommend to the listener

마리아 씨, 안색이 어두워요. 무슨 걱정거리라도 있으세요?
You look gloomy, Maria. Are you worried of something?
남편과 제가 사고방식이 너무 달라서 자주 다투거든요. 그래서 요즘 많이 힘들어요.
My husband and I often argue because we have different ways of thinking. So I’ve been having a hard time lately.
그런 문제는 혼자 고민한다고 해서 해결되지 않아요. 남편과 같이 상담을 받아보시는 게 어때요?
Worrying alone doesn’t help with solving such a problem. Why don’t you get counseling together with your husband?

V+ 으시지요/시지요.
It is attached to the stem of an action verb to mildly suggest or recommend to the listener.

If the stem of an action verb ends with a vowel or ‘ㄹ’, you should use ‘-시지요’. You should use ‘-으시지요’ when it ends with another consonant.

이쪽으로 앉으시지요.
Please take your seat here.

자, 같이 들어가시지요.
So, come on in.

저도 곧 따라갈 테니까 먼저 출발하시지요.
I’ll catch up with you soon, so please go first.
