As it is attached to an action verb’s stem or descriptive verb’s stem, it is used when he insists the content of the following clause is regardless of the content of the proceeding clause. Even though the preceding clause is about the story which has been heard, he is still insisting on his opinion. ‘아무리’ is used on some occasions, too.
‘-ㄴ다고 해도’ is used if it ends with a vowel of an action verb’s stem or ‘ㄹ’. Other than that, ‘-는다고 해도’ is used if it ends with a consonant and ‘-다고 해도’ is used if it ends with a descriptive verb’s stem.
아무리 건강 식품을 먹는다고 해도 식사를 거르면 건강이 좋아지지 않습니다.
Even though you eat healthy food, your health will not improve if you skip meals.
외국에서 산다고 해도 노력하지 않으면 그 나라 언어가 늘지 않아요.
Even though you live in a foreign country, you will not get better at the language if you do not make an effort.
길에 핀 꽃이 예쁘다고 해도 함부로 꺾으면 안 돼요.
