V/A+ 냐에 달려 있다
It is attached to the stem of an action verb or descriptive verb to show that a certain outcome depends on the content of the preceding clause.
Usually, it is used with the postposition ‘은/는’ which reveals the topic. Sometimes, after the stem of an action verb, you add ‘-느냐’, or after the stem of a descriptive verb, you can add ‘-으냐’.
현재 진행 중인 수출 계약의 성사 여부는 우리 제품의 품질이 얼마나 뛰어나냐에 달려 있습니다.
The success of the ongoing export deal depends on how good our products are.
이번 프로젝트가 성공하느냐 못하느냐는 담당자들이 얼마나 자기 몫을 해주냐에 달려 있다.
The success or failure of the project depends on how much the officials in charge will do their part.
그 시험의 합격 여부는 주어진 시간을 얼마나 잘 활용하느냐에 달려 있어요.
Passing the exam depends on how well you use your time.
