Looking for a spectacular autumn road in Korea? Bobaljae Pass (보발재) in Danyang, Chungcheongbuk-do (충청북도 단양) is a must-see.
At an elevation of 540 meters, this winding mountain road offers stunning views of colorful autumn foliage. Around 500 maple trees were planted along the road in 2020, adding even more color to the already beautiful landscape.
The famous winding autumn road was also awarded the Grand Prize at the 45th Korea Tourism Photography Competition in 2017.
Bobaljae Observatory (보발재 전망대), opened in 2024, offers a panoramic view of the entire winding road — perfect for photography.
