어제 야구장에 다녀왔지? 어땠어?
Heard you went to a baseball game yesterday. How was it?
내가 응원하는 팀이 이겼어. 그리고 팀마다 응원가가 있고 관중들이 한목소리로 응원가를 부르는 모습이 인상적이었어.
The team I’m cheering for won. Moreover, each team has its cheer song, and the way the audience sang the cheer song in one voice was impressive.
스트레스가 확 풀렸겠다.
Your stress must have been relieved a lot.
그런데 나는 응원가를 모르니까 따라 부르지 못해서 아쉬웠어.
However, it was too bad that I could not sing along because I didn’t know the cheering song.
나한테 얘기하지 그랬어? 미리 얘기했으면 내가 알려줬을 텐데.
Why didn’t you tell me? If you’d told me beforehand, I’d have taught you.
그래. 다음에 야구장에 갈 때는 유니폼도 입고 응원가도 연습해서 갈 거야.

V+ 지 그랬어요?
It is attached to the stem of an action verb to cautiously reproach or to express sadness to what the listener didn’t do or to something that would have been better if he did in the past.

가: 바빠서 점심을 못 먹었더니 너무 배가 고파요.
I’m so hungry because I was busy that I missed my lunch.
나: 시간이 없으면 김밥이라도 먹지 그랬어요?
You should have eaten at least a gimbal(rice roll) if you didn’t have time for a meal.

가: 반바지를 입었더니 좀 춥네요.
It’s a little cold in shorts.
나: 반바지 말고 긴바지를 입지 그랬어요?
Why didn’t you wear long pants instead of shorts?
