유인촌 문화체육관광부 장관은 11일 서울 중구 온드림 소사이어티에서 열린 ‘2024 코리아그랜드세일’ 개막식에서 이같이 말했다.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yu In Chon said this on Jan. 11 at the opening ceremony of Korea Grand Sale 2024, an international shopping, cultural, and tourism extravaganza, at Ondream Society in the Myeong-dong neighborhood of Seoul’s Jung-gu District.
유 장관은 그러면서 “한국을 방문하는 외국인들이 불편함이 없도록, 좋은 추억을 가질 수 있도록, 한국의 맛과 멋을 가슴속에 담고 갈 수 있도록 잘 준비하겠다”고 밝혔다.
“We will do our best to prepare so that overseas visitors to Korea suffer no inconvenience, have good memories, and retain the nation’s taste and style in their hearts.”
개막식에는 유 장관을 비롯해 이부진 한국방문의해위원회 위원장, 참여기업 관계자 및 외국인 관광객 등 80여 명이 참석했다.
The ceremony was attended by approximately 80 people including Minister Yu, Visit Korea Committee Chairperson Lee Boo-jin, representatives from participating companies, and foreign tourists.
‘한국에서의 특별한 순간’을 주제로 다음달 29일까지 열리는 ‘2024 코리아그랜드세일’에는 역대 최다인 1650여 개 기업이 참여한다. 외국인 관광객을 대상으로 K-팝, K-컬쳐, K-뷰티, K-푸드, K-쇼핑 등 주제별 특별 프로모션을 제공한다.
Under the theme “Your Special Moment in Korea,” 1,650 companies, the most in the event’s history, will participate in this year’s edition through Feb. 29. Promotions for overseas travelers are available by themes like K-pop, culture, beauty, food, and shopping.

All nine of the country’s air carriers offer up to 91% off fares for Korea-bound flights on 145 routes, along with additional services as benefits. In lodging, Lotte Hotels & Resorts, Shilla Stay, and the hotel site Agoda present up to 80% in discounts as well as stay packages that include transportation, experiences, and shopping.
외국인 관광객들이 즐겨 찾는 명동, 홍대, 성수 등에는 ‘코리아그랜드세일 웰컴센터’가 운영되며 각종 혜택을 담은 쿠폰북과 구매 인증 경품 행사가 진행된다.
Welcome centers for Korea Grand Sale are in Myeong-dong, Hongdae, and Seongsu, three prime places in the capital frequented by foreign tourists, and a coupon book and a giveaway for buyers of goods in these areas are planned.
방한 외국인을 위한 K-컬처 체험 행사도 열린다. K-팝 댄스 클래스, 한식 만들기, 원포인트 메이크업 클래스 등 한국에서만 경험할 수 있는 프로그램이 마련된다.
Korean cultural experience events will also be held to welcome visitors from abroad. Programs available only in the country include classes for K-pop dance, Korean cooking, and one-point makeup.
‘2024 강원 동계청소년올림픽’을 계기로 강원도를 찾는 외국인을 위해서는 스키 상품과 숙박 할인, 편의점 할인 등 쇼핑관광 혜택도 제공된다.
Those who visit the Winter Youth Olympics in Gangwon-do Province can get benefits in shopping and tourism such as ski packages and discounts on accommodation and at convenience stores.
