영국 국제교류 전문업체 ‘헨리앤드파트너스’가 지난 10일(현지 시간) 발표한 ‘2024년 헨리 여권 지수’에 따르면 한국 여권은 전 세계 193개국에 무비자로 입국이 가능해 핀란드, 스웨덴과 함께 2위에 올랐다.
The British investment migration firm Henley & Partners on Jan. 10 in its 2024 Henley Passport Index ranked the Korean passport second along with those of Finland and Sweden for having visa-free access to 193 countries.
지난해 하반기 3위였던 한국의 순위는 비자 발급 없이 여권만으로 입국이 가능한 국가가 189개국에서 193개국으로 늘어나면서 2위로 상승했다.
Korea climbed from third in the second half of last year to second early this year, with the number of countries allowing visa-free entry for Korean passport holders rising from 189 to 193 over the period.
1위는 194개국을 무비자로 입국할 수 있는 일본·싱가포르·프랑스·독일·이탈리아·스페인 등 6개국이 차지했다.
Six countries — Japan, Singapore, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain — tied for the top spot with visa-free access to 194 countries.
3위에는 192개국을 무비자로 입국할 수 있는 오스트리아·덴마크·아일랜드·네덜란드가 공동으로 올랐다. 벨기에·룩셈부르크·노르웨이·포르투갈·영국은 191개국으로 공동 4위, 그리스·몰타·스위스는 190개국으로 공동 5위를 기록했다.
Sharing No. 3 were Austria, Denmark, Ireland, and the Netherlands each with 192 countries. Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, and the U.K. tied for fourth with 191, and Greece, Malta, and Switzerland fifth with 190.
‘헨리앤드파트너스’는 국제항공운송협회(IATA) 자료를 바탕으로 199개국 여권 소지자가 무비자로 입국할 수 있는 국가를 평가한 결과를 분기별로 공개하고 있다.
Citing data from the International Air Transport Association, Henley & Partners releases its quarterly index reflecting visa-free access by the passports of 199 countries to 227 travel destinations.
