V+ 게끔

It is attached to the stem of an action verb to mean the content of the preceding clause is the goal, result, or method of the following clause. It has more emphasis than ‘-게’.

모든 약품은 아이들이 만지지 못하게끔 아이들의 손이 닿지 않는 높은 곳에 보관하는 것이 좋아요.
You better keep all the drugs out of reach of children so that they can’t touch them.

우리 시에서는 젊은 부부들이 안심하고 아이를 낳을 수 있게끔 영유아 무상 교육을 실시하고 있습니다.
Our city offers free infant and child education to help young couples have children with ease.

손님들이 안심하고 먹을 수 있게끔 주방을 공개하는 식당이 많아지고 있습니다.
More restaurants are opening their kitchens to help customers eat relaxed.

요즘 옷가게에서 아르바이트를 시작했는데 내가 열심히 설명하면 옷을 사려던 손님들이 그냥 나가버리더라. 왜 그럴까?
I started a part-time job at a clothing store these days, and the customers who were to buy clothes just walked out after I made an explanation diligently. Why?

너무 좋은 점에 대해서만 설명하는 거 아냐? 그럼 역효과가 날 수도 있어.

손님이 옷을 사게끔 좋은 점을 부각시켜서 말해야 하는 거 아니야?
