[Let’s learn Korean culture] Parents’ day in Korea

어버이날에는 카네이션을 드려요
We give carnations on Parents’ day
In Korea, Parents’ day falls on the eighth of August. It’s the day to show appreciation and give thanks to parents. On this day, kids prepare carnations and small gifts for their parents. As for the carnations, they either buy them at flower shops, or they make them with colored paper. They pin the flowers they have prepared on the parents’ chest. And they also give a card or a letter in which they
write “Mom, dad, thank you”.
