한국형 주소체계가 몽골을 시작으로 해외에 처음 진출한다. 앞으로 아프리카와 중앙아시아 5개국으로 확대될 전망이다.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has spread the domestic address system overseas, first in Mongolia and later in five countries in Africa and Central Asia.
행정안전부(행안부)는 김민재 차관을 단장으로 하는 전문단이 9~11일 몽골을 방문해 ‘몽골 주소정보 현대화 사업’을 본격 추진한다고 10일 밝혔다.
The ministry on Sept. 10 said a team of experts led by Vice Minister Kim Min Jae visiting Mongolia from Sept. 9-11 has launched a project to modernize that country’s address information system.
전문단은 몽골 수도 울란바토르 칭길테구 게르지역의 나르락크 24길(Narlag 24 Street) 도로와 건물에 한국형 도로명판과 건물번호판을 설치해 ‘K-주소’의 몽골 진출을 알린다.
The delegation is installing Korean-style street signs and building number plates on Narlag 24 Street and buildings in Chingeltei District of Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian capital.
김 차관은 바트투무르 엥흐바야르 몽골 내각관방부장관을 만나 사업 추진 경과를 공유하고 향후 협력 방안 논의한다.
Vice Minister Kim will hold talks with Mongolian Chief Cabinet Secretary Battumur Enkhbayar to share updates on the project and discuss cooperation.
한국국제협력단(KOICA)의 공적개발원조(ODA)로 추진되는 이번 사업은 오는 2029년까지 총 110억 원을 투입해 몽골의 주소정보 현대화를 지원한다.
Funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency through official development assistance, the project will invest KRW 11 billion through 2029 to help modernize Mongolia’s address information system.
앞서 행안부는 지난 2024년 9월 몽골 내각관방부와 주소 체계 구축과 협력 확대를 위한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결하고 울란바토르에 ‘서울로 도로명판’을 설치했다.
In September 2024, the ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mongolian Cabinet Secretariat to launch the system and expand cooperation, leading to the installation of Seoul-style street signs in Ulaanbaatar.
행안부는 몽골 사례를 바탕으로 아프리카 3개국(에티오피아·탄자니아·보츠와나)과 중앙아시아 2개국(우즈베키스탄·키르기스스탄)으로 K-주소 확산을 추진한다.
Based on the Mongolian case, the ministry is seeking to further spread the system to Ethiopia, Tanzania and Botswana in Africa and Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia.
김 차관은 “주소는 행정서비스, 국민 생활과 안전을 연결하는 중요한 국가기반 정보”라며 “한국 정부의 디지털 행정, 재난 안전과 물류 등 다양한 분야의 주소 활용 경험을 몽골과 공유하겠다”고 말했다.
“Addresses are critical national infrastructure information that connects administrative services with public safety and daily life,” Vice Minister Kim said. “We will share with Mongolia our government’s experience in using addresses across fields like digital administration, disaster safety and logistics.”
