8월 정보통신산업-ICT 수출이 인공지능(AI) 투자 확대에 힘입어 역대 최대를 기록했다. Information and communications technology (ICT) exports last month shattered a record high driven by higher investment in artificial intelligence (AI).
산업통상부와 과학기술정보통신부가 14일 발표한 ‘8월 정보통신산업(ICT) 수출입 동향’에 따르면 지난달 ICT 수출은 599억 8000만 달러로 전년 동월 대비 162.6% 증가했다. 무역수지는 413억 7000만 달러 흑자를 기록했다.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Science and ICT in a report on the sector’s trade released on Sept. 14 said ICT exports reached USD 59.98 billion last month, a jump of 162.6% year on year, that led to a trade surplus of USD 41.37 billion, another record high.
ICT 수출이 3개월 연속 500억 달러를 넘어 600억 달러 턱밑까지 치솟으며 역대 최고치를 다시 썼다. 무역수지 흑자 역시 사상 처음으로 400억 달러를 돌파해 전 기간을 통틀어 최대 규모를 기록했다. 국가 전체 수출에서 ICT 수출이 차지하는 비중은 61.0%로 사상 처음으로 60%를 넘어섰다.
Such shipments exceeded USD 50 billion for the third consecutive month, just missing USD 60 billion but still setting an all-time high. In two firsts, the trade surplus surpassed USD 40 billion and ICT exceeded 60% of the country’s overall exports with 61%.
품목별로는 반도체 수출이 전년 동월 대비 209.0% 급증했다. 휴대폰(23.2%), 컴퓨터·주변기기(383.1%), 통신장비(11.5%) 등도 늘었다.
By product, exports of semiconductors skyrocketed 209% year on year, while those of mobile phones (23.2%), computers and peripherals (383.1%) and telecommunications equipment (11.5%) all increased.
특히 반도체는 AI 컴퓨팅 수요가 지속에 힘입은 글로벌 빅테크 기업의 설비투자 등 메모리 초과 수요에 따른 고정거래가격 상승세로 3개월 연속 400억 달러 이상의 높은 수출 실적을 달성했다.
Chip exports exceeded USD 40 billion for the third straight month thanks to rising spot prices amid surging demand for memory chips driven by capital investment by global tech giants amid sustained demand for AI computing.
지역별로는 미국(94억 6000만 달러), 중국(273억 2000만 달러), 인도(10억 4000만 달러), 베트남(70억 1000만 달러), 일본(5억 6000만 달러), 유럽연합(19억 3000만 달러) 등 주요 수출 대상 지역에서 모두 확대됐다.
Exports rose in all major markets like the U.S. (USD 9.46 billion), China (USD 27.32 billion), India (USD 1.04 billion), Vietnam (USD 7.01 billion), Japan (USD 560 million) and the European Union (USD 1.93 billion).
