이달부터 한국을 방문하는 외국인 관광객들이 손쉽게 택시를 호출할 수 있게 된다. Foreign tourists can now hail taxis conveniently through an app.
서울시는 외국인 관광객 전용 택시 호출 애플리케이션인 ‘타바(TABA)’를 지난 1일 정식 출시했다고 4일 밝혔다. The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Dec. 4 said it officially launched three days earlier Taba, a cab-hailing app Taba exclusively for foreign tourists.
지난해부터 서울시는 외국인 관광객의 국내 택시 호출 서비스 이용 불편을 해소하기 위해 택시 호출 서비스를 개발하는 관광새싹기업과 민간기업의 협력사업을 지원해 왔다. 기존 국내 택시 호출 서비스는 국내 이동통신사를 통한 인증 절차와 국내 발행 카드 위주의 결제 방식 등 제한적인 서비스로 외국인 관광객이 사용하는 데 어려움이 있었다.
Since last year, the city has supported collaborative projects between tourism startups and private companies in taxi-hailing service development to allow foreign tourists to more conveniently use cabs in the city. Domestic taxi-hailing services pose challenges for non-Koreans due to limitations such as authentication procedures available exclusively through domestic mobile telecom companies and payment methods centered on domestically issued cards.
기존 국내 택시 호출 애플리케이션과 비교해 ‘타바’는 외국인 관광객이 본국에서 사용하던 전화번호로 인증할 수 있고 해외 카드 결제도 지원한다. 연말까지는 사회관계망서비스(SNS) 간편 로그인과 이메일 인증 기능이 추가될 예정이다.
Instead, Taba allows foreign tourists to authenticate using their phone numbers registered in their home countries and make payments with overseas cards. By the end of the month, the app will enable authentication through simple login to social media accounts and email.
외국인 관광객이 목적지를 입력하면 실시간 교통상황을 반영한 거리 및 요금을 미리 확인할 수 있다. 필요에 따라 추천, 최단 및 통행료 면제 경로 중 선택하거나 중형, 대형, 고급 택시 등 원하는 대로 택시 유형을 고를 수 있다.
Once a user enters the desired destination, he or she can check the distance and fare reflecting real-time traffic conditions. Depending on needs, a customer can choose from recommended, shortest, and toll-free routes and the desired type of taxi including medium, large, and luxury.
이와 함께 ‘타바’에는 서울의 주요 관광 명소 200여 곳을 소개하는 기능도 탑재됐다. 외국인 관광객이 해당 관광 명소를 따로 입력하지 않아도 앱 하단의 ‘지금 여기로 이동’ 버튼을 누르면 해당 명소가 목적지로 자동 설정된다.
The app also has a feature introducing over 200 major tourist attractions in Seoul. Selecting one of the spots simply requires by hitting the “Go Here Now” button at the bottom of the app automatically sets the attraction as the destination.
해당 앱은 영어, 중국어 간체·번체, 일본어, 태국어 등 5개 언어로 지원된다. 서울시에 따르면 내년 상반기 중으로 베트남어, 인도네시아어, 러시아어 등이 추가된다.
The app is available in English, simplified and traditional Mandarin (Chinese), Japanese and Thai. The city will add Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Russian will be added within the first half of next year.
앱 출시를 기념해 첫 번째 이용 시 택시 요금 5% 할인 혜택도 제공된다. 앱은 구글플레이(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleur.taxi)와 앱스토어(https://apps.apple.com/us/app/taba-seoul-taxi/id6466561408)에서 다운받을 수 있다.
To mark the app’s launch, users can get 5% off their first taxi ride when using the app, which can be downloaded through both Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleur.taxi) and the Apple App Store (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/taba-seoul-taxi/id6466561408).
