코스피지수가 사상 처음으로 9000선을 돌파했다. The main stock price index KOSPI has surpassed 9,000 for the first time.
18일 한국거래소에 따르면 코스피는 이날 종가 기준 9063.84로 거래를 마쳤다. The Korea Exchange on June 18 said the market closed at 9,063.84.
이날 8884.92로 상승 출발해 9000선을 넘어선 뒤 장 마감 직전 9106.07까지 치솟았다가 9063.84에 마감했다. 전장 대비 199.60포인트(2.25%) 오른 수치다.
Opening at 8,884.92, the index soared past 9,000 during trading, reaching as high as 9,106.07 shortly before closing 199.60 points (2.25%) higher than the previous session.
유가증권시장에서 외국인이 1조 2710억 원 순매수하며 지수 상승을 주도했다. 반면 개인과 기관은 각각 3753억 원, 7779억 원 매도 우위를 보였다.
Foreign investors led the surge with net buying of KRW 1.27 trillion. Individuals (KRW 375.3 billion) and institutions (KRW 777.9 billion) were net sellers.
코스피 시장 시가총액은 7413조 원으로 역대 최대치를 달성했다. 국내 증시 전체 시가총액도 지난 17일 기준 세계 7위를 기록했다.
The KOSPI’s market capitalization hit a record KRW 7,413 trillion, while the total market value of Korea’s stock market ranked seventh in the world as of June 17.
올해 1~6월 기준 코스피 상승률(+115.1%)은 주요 20개국(G20) 가운데 1위를 기록하고 있다. 이어 2위는 일본(+39%), 3위는 튀르키예(+28%) 등 순이다.
From January to June, the index posted a gain of 115.1%, ranking first among the Group of 20 (G20) economies. Japan followed in second place with a 39% increase, while Türkiye ranked third with a 28% rise.
거래소는 “글로벌 인공지능(AI) 인프라 투자 확대에 따른 메모리 반도체 수요 증가 등이 이어지며 반도체 중심인 전기·전자 업종이 증시 상승을 주도했다”고 설명했다.
The exchange explained, “Continued growth in demand for memory semiconductors, driven by expanding global investment in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, helped the electronics sector—centered on semiconductors—lead the stock market rally.”
