한국 최대의 책 축제인 ‘서울국제도서전’이 24일부터 28일까지 서울 강남구 삼성동 코엑스에서 열린다. The Seoul International Book Fair, the country’s largest event of its kind, will run from June 24-28 at the convention center Coex in Seoul’s Gangnam-gu District.
올해 도서전에는 출판 관련 단체와 저작권 중개사 등 530여 개 사가 참여한다. 해외 17개국은 국제관 부스를 운영한다. 한국관에서는 북마켓, 도서 전시, 강연, 사인회 등 다채로운 행사를 선보인다.
About 530 organizations including publishing groups and copyrights agencies will attend this year’s fair. The International Pavilion will have booths featuring 17 countries, while the Korea Pavilion will host events including a book market, exhibitions, lectures and author signings.
올해의 주제는 ‘인간선언 Homo duduri’ 이다. The theme of this year’s fair is “Homo Duduri” (A Declaration of Humanity).
도서전을 주최하는 대한출판문화협회는 “인공지능(AI) 시대에 인간이란 무엇인가란 근원적인 질문을 던지고자 한다”며 “이번 전시와 강연, 북토크 등은 전문가와 독자가 함께 인간의 길을 묻고 답을 찾아가는 뜻깊은 여정이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
“We aim to pose the fundamental question of what it means to be human in the age of artificial intelligence (AI),” the Korea Publishers Association, the organizer of the event, said. “This year’s exhibitions, lectures and book talks will comprise a meaningful journey in which experts and readers explore the path of humanity and seek answers.”
주제에 맞춰 AI를 화두를 삼은 다양한 프로그램도 마련했다. 세계 고전문학 속 문장부터 현대인이 품은 ‘인간에 관한 질문’까지 함께 나누고, AI 시대 인간다움과 질문의 의미를 탐색하는 ‘주제 전시’가 독자를 기다린다.
The AI-related programs will include a thematic exhibition that explores everything from passages from classical literature to modern questions about human existence that many ponder, as well as what it means to be human and the importance of these questions in the AI era.
올해 도서전 주빈국은 프랑스다. 한국·프랑스 수교 140주년을 기념해 ‘프랑스를 읽다’를 주제로 특별한 만남을 준비했다.
France is this year’s guest country of honor. To mark the 140th anniversary of the nation’s relations with Korea, the program “Reading France” will feature a special cultural exchange.
소설가 베르나르 베르베르, 그림책 작가 안느 라발, 철학자 파스칼 브뤼크네르 등 프랑스 작가 12명이 한국을 찾는다.
Twelve French authors including novelist Bernard Werber, picture-book author Anne Laval and philosopher Pascal Bruckner will visit Korea.
이들은 소설, 시, 만화, 아동문학, 인문·사회과학, 철학, 미식 등 다양한 분야에서 작가와의 만남, 토론, 워크숍, 사인회 등을 열어 프랑스 문학과 문화의 흐름을 전할 예정이다.
They will attend meet-and-greets with readers, discussions, workshops and book signings across a range of genres like novels, poetry, comics, children’s literature, humanities and social sciences, philosophy and gastronomy, showcasing the latest trends in French literature and culture.
글로벌 비즈니스의 장도 열린다. ‘펠로십 프로그램’에 초청된 10개국 12개 선정사는 도서전 저작권센터에서 국내 출판 관계자들과 수출입 상담을 하고 교류협력을 다진다.
Business talks are also scheduled. Twelve select publishers from 10 countries invited under a fellowship program will hold export and import consultations with Korean publishing representatives at the fair’s copyright center and boost exchanges and cooperation.
‘2026년 김구 탄생 150주년 유네스코 기념해’를 맞아 국가보훈부가 마련한 ‘김구 특별전’도 열린다.
To mark UNESCO’s commemoration this year of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Kim Gu, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will host a special exhibition dedicated to the patriotic leader.
관람객은 김구 선생의 신념이 담긴 글귀를 읽고, 자신의 삶을 돌아보며 다짐을 써보는 체험을 할 수 있다.
Visitors can read quotes reflecting his beliefs, reflect on their own lives and write down personal resolutions inspired by his legacy.
