세계 최대 규모의 다국적 해상 연합 훈련인 2026 환태평양훈련(RIMPAC·림팩)이 24일(현지 시간) 미국 하와이에서 개막했다. This year’s Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise, the world’s largest multinational naval drill, began on June 24 in Hawaii.
미국 국방부에 따르면 이날 하와이에서 열린 이날 개막식을 시작으로 제30회 림팩 훈련이 공식 일정에 들어갔다.
The U.S. Department of War said the 30th edition of the operation officially began with the opening ceremony in Hawaii that day.
대한민국 해군은 1990년 림팩에 처음 참가한 이래 처음으로 연합해군구성군사령관(CFMCC) 임무를 맡았다. 김인호 해군 기동함대사령관은 이번 훈련에서 연합해군구성군사령관으로서 참가국 해군 전력을 지휘한다.
The Republic of Korea Navy has assumed the role of commander of the Combined Forces Maritime Component for the first time since the country joined RIMPAC in 1990. Rear Admiral In-Ho Kim, who leads the Navy’s Mobile Fleet Command, will head naval forces during this exercise.
한국 해군 환태평양훈련부대는 해군·해병대 장병 700여 명을 비롯해 8200톤급 이지스구축함 정조대왕함, 3000톤급 잠수함 도산안창호함, 4900톤급 상륙함 천자봉함, 3100톤급 호위함 대전함, P-8A 해상초계기, AW-159 해상작전헬기, 한국형 상륙돌격장갑차(KAAV) 등으로 구성됐다.
The Navy’s Pacific Rim Training Task Force comprises about 700 naval and Marine personnel, as well as the 8,200-ton (metric) Aegis destroyer Jeongjo the Great, 3,000-ton submarine Dosan Ahn Chang-ho, 4,900-ton amphibious assault ship Cheon Jabong, 3,100-ton frigate Daejeon, P-8A maritime patrol aircraft, AW-159 maritime operations helicopters and Korean-made amphibious assault vehicles.
올해 림팩 훈련은 다음 달 31일까지 하와이 제도 인근 해역에서 실시된다. 훈련에는 30개국에서 상륙함 30여 척, 잠수함 5척, 지상전력 15개 부대, 항공기 206대 이상, 병력 3만여 명이 참가한다.
This year’s RIMPAC will last through July 31 in waters near Hawaii. About 30 amphibious vessels, five submarines, 15 ground force units, over 206 aircraft and about 30,000 personnel from 30 countries will participate.
림팩은 지난 1971년 시작된 격년제 다국적 해상훈련이다. 참가국들은 해상교통로 안전 확보와 인도·태평양 지역 안정, 연합전력 간 상호운용성 강화를 목표로 다양한 상황에서 공동훈련을 한다.
Launched in 1971, RIMPAC is a multinational naval exercise held every two years. Participating countries conduct joint training under a variety of scenarios with the objective of ensuring the safety of sea transportation routes, maintaining stability in the Indo-Pacific region and enhancing interoperability among allied forces.
