삼성, 한화, 현대자동차 등 6개 국내 기업이 영남권에 피지컬 인공지능(AI)과 우주항공 산업 등에 312조 원을 투자한다. Six domestic conglomerates have collectively pledged KRW 312 trillion in investment in the Yeongnam region, which spans Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, and the provinces of Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gyeongsangnam-do, to advance cutting-edge industries like physical artificial intelligence (AI) and space.

The briefing, the third of its kind following those in the Honam (Gwangju and the two Jeolla-do provinces) and Chungcheong regions (Daejeon, Sejong and the two Chungcheong-do provinces), was attended by some 200 people including President Lee Jae Myung, figures from leading investment companies, and leading officials from the central and local governments.
먼저 한화그룹은 위성, 발사체, 우주·국방 AI 데이터센터 구축 등에 약 55조 원을 투자한다. 현대자동차그룹은 AI 기반 자율주행 모빌리티, 미래 핵심부품 제조 클러스터, 제조 AI, 미래 항공·우주 등에 약 42조 원을 투입하기로 했다.
Hanwha Group will invest KRW 55 trillion in satellites, launch vehicles and the construction of AI data centers for space and the defense industry. Hyundai Motor Group will spend KRW 42 trillion on self-driving mobility based on AI, manufacturing clusters for future core components, manufacturing AI and future aerospace technologies.
삼성은 약 60조 원을 투자해 휴머노이드 로봇 양산 라인 등을 구축하겠다고 밝혔다. SK그룹은 약 140조 원을 투입해 영남권에 2GW급 AI 데이터센터를 구축한다.
Samsung Group announced investment of KRW 60 trillion in ventures like the setup of production lines for humanoid robots and SK Group KRW 140 trillion to build a two gigawatt-class AI data center in Yeongnam.
두산그룹은 소형모듈원전(SMR) 등에 약 5조 1000억 원, LG그룹은 반도체 기판 등에 약 9조 4000억 원을 각각 투자할 예정이다.
Doosan Group will spend KRW 5.1 trillion on small modular reactors and LG Group KRW 9.4 trillion on package substrates.
이 외에도 정부는 차세대 반도체·소부장 혁신거점 조성, 2GW AI 데이터센터 구축, 첨단로봇 초혁신벨트 조성 등을 발판 삼아 영남권을 첨단산업 선도거점으로 육성할 계획이다.
In addition, a government plan eyes the development of Yeongnam into a leading hub for cutting-edge industries through ventures like setting up an innovation hub for next-generation semiconductors, materials and components, building a two-GW AI data center and forming a state-of-the-art belt for robotics innovation.
우주항공청 소재지인 사천을 중심으로 ‘우주항공허브’를 구축하고, 남해안 우주항공 산업벨트를 중심으로 우주항공 산업을 지원한다.
Other initiatives include construction of a space hub centered on Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, where the Korea AeroSpace Administration is based, and support for the space industry focused on developing a related industrial belt along the southern coast.
